Rent the Rock Guidelines
*By reserving a date, you agree to adhere to the below-mentioned guidelines.
We ask for your assistance in following these guidelines:
● Reservations MUST be made to Rent the Rock. Click on the Rent the Rock Sign-Up Genius to see available dates.
● Rent the Rock costs $20. You will now be required to submit payment at the time of your reservation using Sign Up Genius. Your reservation is not confirmed until payment is received. KME PTO reserves the right to cancel your reservation if payment is not made within 48 hours of your sign-up.
· A small service fee will be added to your purchase at checkout.
· All payments and reservations are non-refundable for any reason (except for inclement weather).
· KME PTO will not be able to resell or switch the dates for you.
● KME will not paint the rock for you. You must paint the rock yourself or you may hire someone to paint it for you.
● Paint and painting supplies are not provided by the school.
● Only one person per day may Rent the Rock.
● Reservations must be made by a parent or teacher on behalf of a student or student group. Students may not make their own reservations.
● Calls cannot be made to the front office for reservation purposes. All reservations MUST be made online.
● Once reserved, you will Rent the Rock for 24 hours beginning at 5:00PM the day before until 5:00PM the day of your reservation. (For example, if you Rent the Rock for September 15th, you’ll have the stone beginning at 5:00PM on September 14th through 5:00PM on September 15th. If your reservation falls on a Monday, you may start painting on Sunday at 12:00PM.)
● The area around the stone must be left neat and tidy and paint-free.
· ONLY the rock may be painted.
· DO NOT paint the grass or any other material surrounding the rock.
· Please use a plastic tarp or other covering to protect the area surrounding the rock.
· The individual or group will be held financially responsible for cleaning and/or repair costs associated with violation of this policy.
· Anyone painting the rock must leave the area in clean condition.
● Remove all paint materials and litter from the site and be sure the paint is disposed of properly.
● Reminders for reservations will not be sent by the school.
· All rules as outlined in the Forsyth County Code of Student Conduct MUST be obeyed. No exceptions. (No bullying, profanity, political, obscenity, or derogatory language toward anyone or any group.)
Tips & Tricks
● If you reserved the stone but can’t remember the date you reserved log into the Rent the Rock Sign Up Genius here.
● The most popular paint to use is spray paint. You will probably need 2-3 cans for a good base coat (more if your base coat is white), and you may want to spray a clear protective coat over your design at the end to seal it in. Please note that latex paint and paint that is rolled on will take several hours to dry, as opposed to spray paint which dries in several minutes.
